We have a lot of success with this tree aloe in NZ, where it grows quickly and seems to like a lot of water and outdoor coastal conditions. Mine was damaged during a hard frost of about -10 cel but has recovered quickly and at 2m is now pretty safe. Gets a half day sun, poor soil but raised bed. Doesnt mind high winds or salt spray. Protect until it is high enough to hold its leaves above a frost and you shouldnt have difficulty.
