in 1984, i bought a plant that ws identified as E. milli crest. it was crested but the new growth was all "normal" plant. i propagated about five of the cuttings. and grew thwm for many years without knowing what "milii" it was. the plant that i had, remaining was 4 ft tall and branched only from the base. it was finally ID'd as hislopii. now the plant is in the same pot and is about 5 ft tall with 4 main trunks and numerous basal branches. during the past year, it began to branch from near the top as well. it is in my greenhouse, until June , then placed outside in part sun. it doesn't like the 110deg f temp of the greenhouse very well.
all in all, a very striking plant
